It is with great honor and enthusiasm that I serve as the 21st President of the Incomparable Inglewood Chapter of Jack and Jill of America, Inc. Located in the Fabulous Far West Region we invite you to explore our narrative and be inspired by our quest to develop young African-American leaders through positive programming via the Jack and Jill way. We are delighted to share our commitment of helping children achieve their highest potential. This is our ethos both in chapter activities and in service to the children of the community we serve.
In 1938, our founding mothers under the leadership of Marion Stubbs Thomas brought forth a vision that would be the genesis for the Nation’s premier African American family organization with more than 250 chapters across 35 states today. Jack and Jill of America, Inc, has been committed to enhancing the lives of children for more than 75 years, through education, leadership training, service and legislative advocacy.
In 1970, twenty women shared this same objective and chartered the Inglewood Chapter of Jack and Jill of America, Inc. Inglewood was the 140th chapter to seek and achieve provisional chapter status during the Nineteenth National Convention in Dallas Texas July 13-17, 1970.
The Inglewood Chapter is excited to share our rich history and to tell our story through engagement with our community partners, and demonstrated commitment to programming excellence with laser focus on the traditions and legacy of Jack and Jill of America, Inc.
